The importance to dexterity and comfort in safety gloves
Hand injuries remain one of the most frequent types of workplace accidents globally. One common cause is workers removing gloves or choosing not to wear them because they lack the required dexterity to allow the wearer to work comfortably or efficiently.
Dexterity is the ability to perform a variety of tasks with ease. Historically, safety gloves were designed with hand protection as the top priority, created to increase cut and abrasion resistance, mostly bulky and thick, boasting on high protection and durability. There is little consideration for dexterity and comfort; both are required to perform tasks safely and efficiently. They are not breathable enough, making hands hot and sweaty.
Nowadays, new manufacturing techniques have led to significant developments in safety gloves. Design innovations focus on balancing the right protection with comfort and dexterity in mind.
Here at Granberg, we are committed to continuously developing and improving our products to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers. Our experience and expertise span over 61 years, with our efforts to be a leader in design and development earning us several international recognitions.
