Elastane (EL) is a synthetic elastic fibre with at least 85% polyurethane content. Stretched to up to three times its length, it returns to its original size after the stretching force is removed. Single and multifilament yarns are used as a component of various blended yarns. Yarns containing elastane fibres provide high elasticity in polyester, nylon, cotton, or other fibres. Clothes made of them are comfortable and fit well to the body.
